Chiropractic treatments and the three phases of self-healing

Any natural healing process needs time; the treatments offered by our chiropractors are subjective in terms of frequency and duration. The severity and chronicity of the problem, the person’s age and general health status play a major role in the body’s healing process.

Generally, in chiropractic the type of treatments are divided into three phases:

Phase 1: intensive

Phase 2: stabilization and rehabilitation

Phase 3: maintenance of well-being

Phase 1: intensive

Most people who seek our help have been suffering from various disorders for a long time and have not yet found the right path.

Our first goal is to help them decrease the pains and ailments that have brought them to us and find the solution to the problems as quickly as possible by identifying and correcting the causes that created the symptoms.

After making the first visit, the chiropractors and orthopaedists at Studio Mazzini will evaluate the case as a team, whether it is possible for them to help and what is the best course of treatments to follow.

Treatments at our centre are always natural and individual and change according to age and health conditions.

It will then be explained in a clear and simple way the treatment procedure to be followed, the possible causes of the current unhealthy state, the timing, frequency, techniques that will be used, and the costs of the first phase of treatment.

Treatments can vary in frequency, number, time, and techniques used. In fact, people of all ages, from infants to the elderly, as well as athletes and artists at the top of their careers, rely on our treatments.

The techniques used are natural very gentle, specific, and painless.

Many senior citizens with arthritis, osteoporosis and chronic neurological disorders who need very gentle treatments also rely on us.

In this first intensive phase, the frequency of treatments is often higher. In some very severe cases, treatments may also occur daily if necessary. Chiropractors will also teach some simple exercises to do at home and give lifestyle advice during treatments or in specific customized meetings (wellness classes) , which can speed healing. It is important to avoid physical exertion during the first phase of treatments, especially immediately after treatment.

The first phase is usually completed in the first twenty-one to twenty-eight days.

At the end of the first phase, a re-evaluation of the patient will be performed. All tests performed during the first visit will be performed again in order to assess improvements in symptomatology, understand functional progress, and determine the treatment course for the second phase.

Phase 2: stabilization and rehabilitation

The goal of the second phase is complete recovery of function.

Pain decreases until it disappears, and numerous improvements in overall health begin to be observed. Joint mobility increases, muscles are less tense, balance and energy and posture improve markedly, sleep is often deeper, and one wakes up much more rested.

The frequency of treatment decreases, and the patient can begin light exercise. Begin exercises to improve posture by starting with stimulation of the abdominal and back muscles. In fact, at this stage, it is important to learn a daily routine of simple exercises to maintain the benefits of the treatments longer.

From our clinical experience and scientific research, we know that the absence of pain is not the only indicator of healing-in fact, it is often misleading. If you make too much effort when you are not yet fully healed or stop the treatments, you may experience unpleasant relapses.

We advise everyone to follow the whole process until complete stabilization, which will be evaluated time by time by testing at the end of the various treatment cycles.

The second phase ranges from three months to one year.

The first two phases are essential and mandatory if you want to achieve excellent results that will last.

Phase 3: maintenance of well-being

The third stage is to maintain the well-being achieved.

Prevention is better than cure, everyone knows.

Much American scientific research say that people who frequently visit a chiropractor are healthier, have more energy and feel more serene and happy.

Chiropractic care not only allows people to slow the natural aging process of the joints, but also to better withstand the effects of daily stress, as the treatments stimulate the production of serotonin the happiness hormone.

Consistent chiropractic treatment over time offers multiple benefits.

Those who have been following us monthly since 1994 say they do it to take care of themselves and to “age gracefully”.

The latest scientific research in the field of functional neurology has shown that, the cause of daily stress our nervous system cannot take more than three months without chiropractic treatment.
